For
Glenda VanRaalte it was love at first sight. For Dick VanRaalte it
took a bit longer. Glenda thought about this boat every day after
she saw it and knew we just had to obtain it and restore it. As an
artist and designer, she instantly saw the gracefulness of the
design despite the crappy paint on the boat. |

The Bee-Line Luxury Sapphire has
some of the biggest fins on a small boat. Fin tip to fin tip
measures 7'8". The actual length of the boat is 14'8" but it
was advertised as being 16' long. If measured from the bow to the
tip of either fin, it is just slightly less than 16'. |

The Bee-Line was in pretty good
shape for a 50 year old boat. It had been stored indoors for part of
its lifetime. The hardware was probably not original to the boat.
The paint was in very bad shape and it had many rough spots. The
seat cushions were still good so we kept those and used the colors
as the basis for our paint scheme. The boat was found on a lake near
Wayland, MI in the early 1980's. |
