Traditional boat building methods are used in the restoration or
repair of your boat. We use modern materials to ensure the
durability of your boat and enhance the rich beauty of these
historic vessels. For
instance, we use 3M's 5200 for frame and bottom bedding on wood
boats rather than epoxy as many restorers use. The rubbery 5200
provides a cushion between the frames and the bottom adding a degree
of flexibility to the boat as the wood expands and contracts with
the seasons and usage. If desired, all exposed surfaces are sealed
with Smith's Penetrating Epoxy to guard against water absorption and
impede the growth of rot. All fasteners are stainless steel, brass,
or silicon bronze which is the fastener of choice due to its
strength and ability to stem corrosion.
Starboard Marine uses the very
best mahogany, cedar, white oak, teak, and marine grade plywood
available to make your boat its very finest whether you use it for
everyday cruising or for show entry. We use the same high standards
for all our fiberglass work, too. |

We have many
vintage boat plans on file for racer, small runabouts, hydroplanes
and rowboats. These boats can be built to suit your fancy with
custom upholstery, hardware, decking ad cockpit configuration. If
you have existing plans for your dream boat, Starboard Marine can
take it off the drawing board and make it float. |
